Blood test for allergies

Allergies, asthma and autoimmune diseases are increasing around the world and affect all ages. Since every country has their own dietary habits and environments, there are significant differences in the allergens.

Testing and Results

At Microfine we offer allergy testing through blood tests with results available in two days. (Except for gluten allergy profile results which are available in 10 days.)

Each report will have the results along with comments and recommendations from a GP if required (all-inclusive in the price).

Is a blood test accurate for diagnosing allergies?

Skin tests may be more sensitive than blood tests, though both methods are considered accurate for diagnosing allergies. It may be more difficult to accurately interpret skin test results on people with darker skin, and skin tests results may be affected.

What is an IgE test?

An immunoglobulin E (IgE) test measures the level of IgE, a type of antibody. Antibodies are made by the immune system to protect the body from bacteria, viruses, and allergens. IgE antibodies are normally found in small amounts in the blood, but higher amounts can be a sign that the body overreacts to allergens.
